From 18–20 March 2026, the DVPW Section Political Theory and History of Political Thought will host the conference “Citizenship – Current Developments and Conceptual Revisions” at Philipps University Marburg. The event is organized by the research group “Transformations of Citizenship”, in cooperation with Philipps University Marburg and Goethe University Frankfurt.
The conference brings together scholars to discuss how citizenship is being reshaped – across urban, European, and global contexts, through postcolonial perspectives, in new forms of participation, and amid contemporary democratic challenges. The three-day program features thematic panels and keynote lectures by Maarten Prak and Soraya Nour.
